Tourism in the Dominican Republic Grows 8.5% During January 2016

The number of tourists that visited the Dominican Republic through the country's international airports during this past month of January grew by 8.5%, in comparison to last year's numbers.

In total, 456,000 international tourists visited the country.

The number of U.S. tourists jumped to 147,000, representing an increase of 8.2%.

Aside from the United States, the countries with the greatest representation are: Canada 115, 000 (9.5%), Germany 25,000 (3.4%); Great Britain (4.8%); Argentina (26%); Colombia (50%) and Venezuela (69%).
