Tour Europe This June With the Acclaimed Australian Chamber Choir

Australian Chamber Choir

In June, the Australian Chamber Choir will embark on their fifth European tour and for the first time,

they are inviting the public to accompany them on a 15-day, 4-star luxury journey of fabulous music and

priceless experiences.

The Choir will travel to tourist map milestones such as Berlin, Copenhagen, Bonn and Hamburg, but it is the 'offpiste'

experiences that will foster life long memories for travellers.

Stay at a converted monastery and be in the audience when the choir performs in Nördlingen, a magical medieval

town ensconced within a stone wall. Enjoy a demonstration by Douglas Lawrence on the 1610 Baroque “swallow's

nest” organ housed within a church built in 1451. Travel by ferry from Rostock to Copenhagen and then continue

from the picturesque Swedish port of Ystad to Denmark's historic holiday island of Bornholm. Visit Beethoven's birth

house, attend a German grill party and for those inclined, participate in a Friend's Choir rehearsal led by Douglas

Lawrence.

The Australian Chamber Choir is much loved within Europe, perhaps enjoying a higher profile there than Australia,

which will undoubtedly make for some treasured memories.

The Australian Chamber Choir's 2015 program will be announced early February.

“… with their sophisticated sound and self-evident virtuosity they continue to astound their public with the most demanding choral

repertoire” Schwäbische Zeitung, Germany, July 2013.

Exemplary intonation and astounding rhythmic precision are Lawrence's hallmarks, to which the choir responds with beautiful, transparent

and evocative soundscapes," Augsburger Allgemeine, Germany, July 3, 2013

“ (Music from the Basilica San Marco)… an exceptional concert.” Martin Duffy, The Age, June 9, 2014

"the choir … processed down the long aisle of the abbey, with a standing audience applauding enthusiastically on either side" Berlingske

Tidende, Denmark
