Bamburgh in Northumberland has received the coveted title of Britain's best seaside resort following a survey* by Which? Travel to find the nation's favourite coastal resort.

The picturesque village of Bamburgh boasts a number of popular visitor attractions, such as a spectacular beach, formidable Bamburghcastle and award-winning indie restaurants and bars. 

It beat strong competition from other famous coastal tourist hot-spots such as Cornwall to receive the overall highest rating in categories such as attractions, scenery, food and drink, accommodation, peace and quiet and value for money. 

Bamburgh received an overall score of 89%, with five stars for its beach, scenery, peace and quiet and value for money and four stars for accommodation and attractions. 

The village is located in Northumberland which was also crowned the UK's best holiday country in the most recent British Travel Awards.
