Tony Bilson Premieres In New Holiday Chef Program at Couran Cover Island Resort in October

Couran Cove Island Resort off the Gold Coast is commencing a unique �GOURMET GETAWAY �series where chefs of national recognition will join the resort on a working holiday. The series begins with a premiere visit by Tony Bilson, nationally renowned chef, restaurateur and author from 1 October until 14 October 2001.

Bilson will cook for guests in the resort�s signature dining facility, �THE RESTAURANT", a feature of the Resort�s marine board walk. His menu will feature the best of South-East Queensland�s regional produce. The backdrop for dining is the Broadwater and coastal ranges � sublime at sunset.

General Manager of Couran Cove, Alastair McCracken, said that the holiday chefs program benefited everybody. �Leading Australian chefs in a relaxed atmosphere with fine produce � Tony Bilson�s menu reflects his personal delight in the concept. In -house guests and visitors from the mainland will experience the best cuisine this country offers. �This is a food event for everyone! Restaurant guests can expect it to be very laid back and informal� after all, South Stradbroke is an island, even if it is only 15 minutes by ferry from the Gold Coast." A 6-course Degustation dinner will be on offer over the 2-week period beginning 1 October. Queensland wines have been chosen to match each course and are included in the price of $90 per person. Each will conclude with a light luncheon and a wine tasting featuring 7 of Queensland�s finest wines. The masterclasses are $130 per person. Those interested in Couran Cove�s Gourmet Getaway have the choice to be involved as much or as little as they wish. The registration form offers "The Complete Package" which includes the masterclass and wine event, 6-course Degustation dinner, overnight accommodation with buffet breakfast and ferry transfers for $330 per person, twin share. The masterclasses and dinner are also offered separately with guests able to return to the mainland by ferry the same day or night.
