Tokyo-on-Thames – for One Day Only, the New Experience Touching Down in London This July

Wendy Wu Tours

With travel to Japan still off limits, the opportunity to travel and see the 2021 Japan Olympic Games is sadly out of bounds for most of us, but watch out London, because this July the spirit and essence of the games and everything that embodies Japan is coming directly to London!  In a once only special event, Wendy Wu Tours, the UK's leading specialist tour operator to Japan, is taking over London, staging a dedicated Japanese cultural treasure trail experience along the banks of the Thames and throughout the city, an event which will test your skill, knowledge and acumen, all combined on a route through the capital bringing together the very best in Japanese cultural and iconic landmarks.

The fun kicks off on Saturday 24 July at London Bridge, where founder of Wendy Wu Tours, Wendy Wu, will officially open 'Tokyo-on-Thames', seeing off the first groups on this unique and historic event. From here on, contestants will navigate their way along the Thames and through the capital, using a series of cleverly crafted clues, to discover and uncover London's secret, and not so secret, Japanese experiences, whilst at the same time learning more about the unique bond between Tokyo and London. The event culminates in a grand finale, at a secret location to be discovered on the day, with contestants sharing a photo opportunity with an official London 2012 Olympic torch bearer.

Commenting on this unique and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Wendy Wu, founder Wendy Wu Tours said: “As London's twin city, Tokyo is extremely important to the capital and what better way to celebrate our partnership, and of course pay homage to the spirt of Olympiad, than staging this unique event which embraces both the uniqueness and diversity of both cities. This is a fun and innovative opportunity to enjoy a Japanese style day out in the capital, mixed with a degree of competiveness for those inclined or simply to be enjoyed at your own leisurely pace, whilst taking a journey through the sights and sounds of London, Tokyo style.”

Tokyo-on-Thames runs Saturday 24 July from London Bridge, starting times from 10:30am to 1:00pm.
