Tobu Railway's First Capital and Business Alliance Agreement

Tobu Railway Co., Ltd.(Tobu Railway, a private railway company with the longest route network within Tokyo and the Kanto Area) and BOJ Inc.(BEAUTY OF JAPAN, a Japan-specialist travel company) have concluded a capital and business alliance agreement for strengthening the planning and sales of tours, which utilise sightseeing resources along the Tobu Line and target inbound tourists from Europe, the US, and Australia.

This is the first time that Tobu Railway has formed a capital and business alliance for initiatives targeting inbound tourists. Cooperating with BEAUTY OF JAPAN, Tobu Railway aims to strengthen experience programs and activities that utilise attractive sightseeing resources along the Tobu Line, in which inbound tourists mainly from Europe, the US, and Australia with a strong interest in Japan can experience Japanese culture, food, nature, and tradition.

The alliance with BEAUTY OF JAPAN  specifically enables Tobu Railway to develop attractive and affordable products by utilising the Tobu Group's facilities such as transportation, hotels, and leisure facilities.  The alliance also allows the creation of tours focusing on traditional Japanese experiences.

For example, Tobu Railway is currently planning to create the sales of tours called “Zazen Experience Program”, where tourists can visit Nikko by the new limited express train Revaty and experience Zen sitting meditation program at Rinno-ji Temple, a World Heritage Site. They will also sell “Lake Chuzenji Hiking Tour” in which tourists can enjoy fresh greenery leaves in summer while experiencing the beautiful autumn leaves in Nikko.

Through this capital and business alliance, Tobu Railway and BEAUTY OF JAPAN will focus on development extended beyond the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, aiming to increasingly develop tourism products for affluent tourists from Europe, the US, and Australia. They are also actively working on the revitalization of all the sightseeing areas along with the Tobu line including the Asakusa/Tokyo Skytree area and the Nikko/Kinugawa area.
