To Tuscany, the villa-booking website, has added two luxurious properties to its collection where guests can get married in a church or a chapel.
Canonica di Vertine (pictured, far and centre left) is a newly restored church house in the heart of Chianti. Set in a medieval hamlet, the house is attached to a church where guests can arrange to be married.
The property has been carefully converted to retain original features, including religious frescoes, beamed ceilings and tiled floors. It can now host eight guests in four en-suite double bedrooms, two of which have their own private lounges. There are spacious living and dining areas and a large well-equipped kitchen, plus a small gym in the basement. Outside, there's a large furnished terrace with stone-built barbecue, and a lawn with a quaint pergola for taking in the views of the surrounding countryside. Although there is no pool at the property, guests have special access to the spa resort Castello di Spaltenna, less than a mile away.
Canonica di Vertine costs from £2,150 to £3,440 in total for a week.
Meanwhile, Villa Montedomini (pictured, far and centre right), a traditional stone property in the hills above Florence, has a chapel in its grounds that is licensed for weddings. And with 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, sleeping up to 18, the villa is a good size for an intimate gathering of close family and friends. The property features an outdoor pool and a sun deck with views over vineyards and olive groves. Large outdoor terraces for dining are matched by spacious, elegantly furnished living areas in the main house.
Villa Montedomini costs from £4,171 to £7,869 in total for a week.
