'Tis the season for nature: Wildflowers and wonderful new experiences in Australia

24 August 2022: Experts are predicting a bumper wildflower season this year in Australia following an increase in Autumn rain, which means there's never been a better time to experience the nation's natural wonders.

Flower fanatics are encouraged to head Down Under for one of the greatest shows on Earth, as wildflowers burst to life in the northern regions of West Australia in the Golden Outback and Coral Coast regions. With more than 12,000 species, 60 per cent of which are not found anywhere else in the world, these wildflowers will colour the landscapes from coast to forest and from city to outback.

Australia is also home to some of the most epic landscapes in the world, with natural wonders found around every corner. So after discovering the wildflowers in Western Australia, why not head over to South Australia for an unforgettable walking experience, or visit New South Wales to connect with nature on a new Indigenous camping experience in the Aussie bush.

To inspire nature-loving adventurers everywhere, Tourism Australia has rounded up the best new ways to experience Australia's great outdoors.
