See Monterey

All you need is love. Monterey County wineries, restaurants, hotels and attractions will take care of the rest, offering a range of romantic activities this Valentine's Day weekend.

A Day of Romance in Old Monterey (reserve tickets by Jan. 31 at 831-647-6226) gives couples the chance to tour historic adobes and stroll the hidden gardens of Monterey. Two-hour tours leave every half hour between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (no tour at 12:30 p.m.) from the Cooper-Molera Adobe, stopping at Larkin House and Sherman Quarters. Four short plays are included in the tour, which ends with refreshments and 19th century entertainment.

Guests can sample Monterey County wines and explore the area's most scenic drives and vineyards during the annual Wine Passport Weekend (831-375-9400), Feb. 13-15. Sponsored by the Monterey County Vintners & Growers Association, this popular event includes entertainment, food, and wine tasting, as well as a drawing for local wines and gifts. Participants receive commemorative wine glasses and official passports stamped by wineries and restaurants along the wine trail.

In conjunction with the Wine Passport Weekend, Wine from the Heart (831-641-9463, www.winefromtheheart.com) invites guests to a reserve wine tasting throughout the weekend, complete with a complimentary Valentine's Day gift.
