FATHER CHRISTMAS' GROTTO & TOY WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE

In the midst of the Scenic Railway, guests can meet the elves of the North Pole in their workshop as they busy themselves making toys for the big day. They will be able to play games, sing songs, write letters to Father Christmas and even meet him! As part of the Elf Department of Hornby Hobbies, Hornby will be providing a make-n-paint gift for every guest. Suitable for all ages, (as long as they still believe), but recommended for three to seven year olds.

CHRISTMAS TREES

Nordman Fir Christmas trees will be on sale, high quality at exceptional prices, allowing guests to choose from a range all of sizes that suit all households.

CHRISTMAS BAUBLES

We have teamed up with Margate's Garden Gate Charity and will be giving guests the chance to help us paint a bauble and decorate the biggest Christmas tree in Margate! For every bauble on our tree, we will give a free Dreamland ticket to the Garden Gate Charity.   

CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY

CHRISTMAS PIAZZA

The Christmas Piazza will house Christmas markets, Dreamland's 25ft tree and an outdoor cinema. On Saturday, The Secret Emporium market will be displaying wares and designs from the best of independent British designers. Our Christmas market stalls will be filled with Kent produce, gifts and items highlighting the best in local business.

Guests will know 'holidays are coming' with the arrival of the iconic Coca Cola truck!

FESTIVE ROLLER SKATING

Skate with friends and loved ones, pop on Christmas jumpers and to roller round the Christmas tree, guaranteed for fun! We will be playing a selection of feel good Christmas Anthems & Nostalgic Christmas Oldies alongside our daily Christmas Movie Soundtrack. Christmas bobble hats will be included with skate hire, Christmas Jumpers encouraged!

EVENTS

A number of performances from bands, schools and local groups will be held at the Bandstand to entertain guests and continue the atmosphere from start to finish. The Salvation Army band will also be performing as well as traditional carol singing to really get into the merriment. The Frosted Fairground's Fun Fairers will also inject some Christmas cheer into your soul. Armed with parlour games and a bucket load of cracker jokes, they could crack a smile from Ebeneezer Scrooge himself.

As dusk falls join Teddy, Betty and all the Dreamland Fun Fairers on their Christmas Parade through The Frosted Fairground. With the smell of mince pies in the air, join us in song as we gather round the Christmas tree and see the magic happen!

Head to the Piazza where Dreamland's Head Chef, Matt Fewins will be hosting daily cookery demonstration guaranteed to ensure you have the tastiest Christmas ever!

DREAMLAND, MARGATE

The Dreamland site with its long heritage as an entertainment space dating back to the 1870's, was saved from being turned into a housing development by an eleven-year 'Save Dreamland' campaign by locals and amusement park enthusiasts, whose successful campaigning led to the regeneration of a fire damaged and derelict site, back into a fully operational pleasure park. 

A re-imagined Dreamland opened on 19th June 2015 as a world-class visitor attraction, providing ageless entertainment through truly re-inventing the famous seaside entertainment experience.

The new Dreamland is a unique, vintage-style pleasure park with a witty and timeless design theme. It consists of a outdoor amusement park with the UK's only Grade II* listed roller coaster along with eighteen other stylishly restored rides, that tell the story of rides through the decades. The amusement park offers much more than just rides with classic sideshows, a pleasure garden of pop up entertainment, a bandstand for DJ's and live music, an in-house entertainment team known as the Fun Fairers and Betty and Teddy Bear along with a food court of surprisingly good quality seaside food favourites.

The free to enter Grade II* listed indoor space, houses an amusement arcade, vintage pinball parlour, roller disco and diner, ice cream parlour, Dreamland retail emporium and the Octopus's Garden (family entertainment centre).

The Pleasure Park is set within a 16-acre landscape capable of hosting national festivals, major events and visiting attractions. 

Thanet District Council owns Dreamland's site. The council, working with The Dreamland Trust secured a funding package of £18 million, which includes external funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Sea Change grant, to deliver the first phase of the project. Sands Heritage Ltd. was appointed in 2014 as the commercial operator of Dreamland and has invested an additional £10 million in the project.

The 2015 phase one opening of the Dreamland pleasure park has required the herculean effort of many passionate and dedicated individuals and Dreamland is extremely grateful to the authorities and individuals who have invested time, money and unprecedented community support in the project.

The Dreamland project plays a significant role in community engagement, education, training, sustainable employment and boosting the local economy. It is also a major component in the continued regeneration of Margate, spearheaded by Turner Contemporary in 2011.
