Spectacular concerts, arts festivals, food and wine events and international sporting competitions are what you'll find on Western Australia's events calendar.
Tourism WA through its events division Eventscorp is supporting more than 100 events in over 70 locations across the state this year, including a record number of events in WA's regions. 45 events will be supported by the Regional Events Scheme (RES), which is jointly funded by Eventscorp and Royalties for Regions, a WA State Government initiative.
2012-13's event line up sees the return of some of Western Australia's most iconic events, plus the introduction of some exciting new international events.
See some of the world's and Australia's best chefs, culinary and wine critics, and celebrities at the Margaret River
Gourmet Escape, November 22-25. This new international food and wine event, to be held at various venues across the iconic Margaret River wine region in WA's south west, has already attracted star chefs, including UK's Heston Blumenthal, owner of the famous Fat Duck restaurant, Justin North of Becasse in Sydney, Perth's Matt Stone of Greenhouse and Dany Angove of Margaret River's Leeuwin Estate. www.gourmetescape.com
New to the international golf calendar and to WA is the inaugural Perth International. October 18-21 will see some of the world's best golfers fly into Perth for Australia's richest golfing tournament - US $2million in prize money. www.perthinternational.com.
The Hyundai Hopman Cup, the first tournament of the year on the International Tennis Federation's calendar, returns to Perth and will be held at the brand new $500 million Perth Arena from 29 December 2012 to 5 January 2013 www.hopmancup.com
One of Australia's premier cultural events the Perth International Arts Festival returns to WA in February and March 2013, promising some of the world's best international and contemporary theatre, dance, music, film, visual arts and literature. www.perthfestival.com.au

Australasian Safari 21 to 29 September. The toughest endurance motorsport event in the Asia Pacific Region, the event takes a new route this year heading north of Perth along WA's dramatic coastline and through its rugged outback. www.australasiansafari.com.au
Cape to Cape MTB October 25-28, Augusta. Set to an iconic backdrop of world famous surf beaches, private farmlands, rocky outcrops and national forests, this four day mountain bike event is for riders of all levels from recreational through to competitive. www.capetocapemtb.com
