Bristol, UK: Adventure and risk management company Secret Compass has unveiled a new look and creative direction for their brand. To celebrate the milestone they're offering a free place on their new UK-based expedition, 'Scotland: Source to Sea', plus an Afibio packraft and a subscription to BASE magazine.
Secret Compass has completed many world-firsts in remote, hard-to-reach locations, including taking the first tourists into the newly independent country of South Sudan, leading the first mountain bike expedition through Afghanistan's Wakhan Corridor and the first coast-to-coast crossing of Madagascar.
Now the go-to partner for TV and film projects in extreme locations and high-risk environments, the company has an impressive track record for location and safety management; from managing teams working with Mexican drug cartels for National Geographic TV and supporting conflict journalists in Syria and Afghanistan to providing risk management and medical support in Arctic Norway for a Disney documentary series starring Chris Hemsworth.
Early in 2020 as the Covid-19 pandemic grasped the world, the company's role within the commercial filming industry increased to cover protocols to manage Covid-19 risk. In the process, they set up a testing facility to make sure those projects could continue with as little disruption as possible.
MD Thomas Bodkin says: “ The new brand is all about uncovering hidden pathways and forging new ones.
“That's essentially what our business has always done, starting in the tourism space and pretty quickly overlapping into support for TV and film crews.
“Now we're a few years down the line and whilst our essence has stayed the same, we've broadened the areas we work in. Adapting to the times has been a constant for Secret Compass, so now we're updating our identity to reflect that.”
During the pandemic the company has been working hard to create new expeditions for 2022 and launched their first fully-fledged expedition in the UK; 'Scotland: Source to Sea', a trekking and packrafting adventure from the source of the River Tay to its tidal limit at Perth.
To celebrate the new brand launch the company is running a competition to win a place on their new Scotland expedition, a brand new Anfibio Delta MX packraft and a year's subscription to BASE magazine.
