This race is the eighth race of the season and will replace the Misano Circuit as the final round of the season and it will be the first time in the history of the SBK that two rounds have been held in Portugal.

In addition to the main Superbike category, the Supersport and Supersport 300 categories will also be held in Estoril.

The inclusion of the Portuguese layout will be a novelty for the vast majority of drivers and teams in the three categories that will be on track in October. Few drivers were able to participate in races at Estoril in the past, and this adds a certain degree of uncertainty and excitement to the final round of the season.
