In addition to the historical sites and natural wonders, new events and festivals are slated to debut in Croatia in 2017. New Years in Zagreb ushers locals and tourists into the main square and city streets for live music and celebrations, the wonderful atmosphere continues into the early hours. This spring, Split will see the inaugural Tribidrag Conference, which is scheduled for April 27 & 28. The conference will host 150 wine enthusiast delegates to promote the native wine grapes of Croatia, the Tribidrag (Zinfandel). Croatia will be home to several festivals in the summer of 2017. Tisno Island will host three festivals- Soundwave Croatia, Defected Croatia, and Dekmantel Selectors, while Dimensions and Outlook Festival will take place in Pula, Sonus Festival will be on Pag Island and Ultra Europe Festival will be held in Split. From the magic of the Advent to the vivacious music festival line-ups, Croatia is redefining destination travel in 2017.

Vacationers will experience the ultimate in comfort and convince with new travel hubs and transportation options in Croatia next year. Four airports are undergoing over a half billion euros in upgrades to extend their runways and expand their capacity to serve world travelers. The new Zagreb Airport Terminal is scheduled to open in March 2017; it's fit to accommodate larger, luxe aircraft like the Boeing 777, and will have the capacity to serve 5 million passengers annually. The Brač Airport will also be ready to receive larger aircraft after its runway remodel, which is set for completion in 2017. In 2018, the Losinj Island Airport will see an expansion project with a new terminal and longer runway to offer yet another home for larger airplanes. The new Dubrovnik Airport Terminal is slated for completion by 2019, and will impress 3.5 million passengers per year.

Not only are the airports serving up a huge helping of convenience, but new airline routes to Croatia are keeping travelers more connected than ever before. Air Transat's non-stop seasonal flights between Toronto and Zagreb were a sensation during their first season from June to October 2016, and the airline plans to expand upon the successful route in 2017.

Upon arrival, vacationers will find a host of new luxury hotel options, including a trendsetting boutique hotel, a lively hotspot built for millennials, and a new association of Croatian small luxury hotels. For nature loving leisure-seekers, the new, intimate boutique hotel, Little Green Bay on Hvar Island, offers an enchanting experience of peace and quiet in a gorgeous emerald bay. For luxury travelers, The Four Seasons Resort is expected to open in on a pristine waterfront site in 2019. Hotel Park in Rovinj is built for the refined traveler; set to open in 2018, the beachfront hotel and marina are redefining luxury in an exclusive location with polished style and a fabulous spa. Business travelers and families alike will be delighted by the first Hyatt Regency in Croatia, which is slated to open in Spring 2019 in Zadar Maraska. The resort will have a luxe waterfront location in walking distance to the city's famous Sea Organ, and will feature an experimental instrument that plays music through the sea's motion.
