Launched on 21 December 1992, Batman Adventure - The Ride takes people on an amazing simulated thrill speed adventure through, over and under the streets of Gotham City.

To date, over eight million people have joined Batman in battle. Every jolt, every turn and every blow is experienced as advanced computer technology makes the free flight sensation seem real and the battle frenzied. The ride incorporates the latest in high technology and is a simulated sight, sound and movement experience.

The combined library walk, theatre style presentation of Batman featuring sophisticated animatronics followed by the Penguin chase in a flight simulator, contributes to the total Batman experience and the feeling of having embarked on a real life adventure.

Warner Bros. Movie World General Manager, Peter Burrows, said Batman Adventure - The Ride was the beginning of a new era of 'rides' in Australian theme parks.

"Batman Adventure - The Ride is the ultimate ride experience, based on simulated experiences, real-life sounds, vision, senses and movement," said Mr Burrows.

"It is not a mechanical ride. It is a highly advanced, computer-controlled experience providing people with the thrill of lifetime."

There are six Tracking Modules for the chase simulation part of the ride, each seating 20 people. The lifelike motion of theses modules is achieved by the use of military style flight simulator motion bases which allow six degrees of freedom. This is what makes the ride unique - up until the Batride at Warner Bros. Movie World, only three degrees had been used for rides such as the Back to the Future ride at Universal Studios.

"The ride captures the realism and breathtaking excitement of the hit Batman movies, and, through state-of-the-art technology, transforms it into a real life adventure," said Mr Burrows.

The ride begins in the Wayne Manor Library, a dark, rather forbidding room lined from floor to ceiling in books - an exact replica of the actual set used in the Batman movies.

Guests continue their journey through the Batcave and onto the streets of Gotham City to combat the notorious Red Triangle gang which is led by The Penguin.
