The Shipwreck Treasure Museum's highly popular Tunnel of Lights is returning in a socially-distanced format for 2020 from the 3rd December 2020.

Building on the huge success of creating the UK's longest underground tunnel of festive lights in 2019, this year promises to be even bigger, bolder and brighter.

More than five kilometres of cable and over 50,000 lights are being used to transform the subterranean passageways into a festive wonderland. 

From Narnia to the North Pole, through a frozen forest and a neon wood, visitors will travel through magical realms in this illumination spectacular.

While the experience will be bigger than ever, visitor capacity is being significantly reduced to ensure everyone can safely socially-distance.

“This is a chance to escape the reality of the past year and to lose yourself in colour, imagination and fantasy,” said Lynné Raubenheimer, the event manager responsible for co-ordinating the event.

“We have also ensured a series of extra precautions and additional safety protocols are in place to ensure the visit fully complies with government guidelines,” she added.

Located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Charlestown, the Shipwreck Treasure Museum is home to one of Europe's largest collections of shipwreck treasures with over 8,000 artefacts in their collection, including the only intact barrel of coins ever recovered from the seabed.
