TravMedia

The second annual TravMedia Summit took place last week at the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour. The Summit brings together Australia and New Zealand's most influential thought leaders in tourism for a full-day symposium.

230 travel industry professionals attended the TravMedia Summit to hear an unrivalled line-up of speakers including editors, PR leaders and travel writers inspire new ideas, share insights and discuss the trends and challenges affecting our industry.

Nick Wayland, TravMedia's CEO and Founder said, “Our aim of The TravMedia Summit is to create a platform to share ideas, learn from leaders and each other and be inspired to improve communications within the travel industry.

We want to upskill the market by sharing the collective knowledge of our TravMedia industry leaders with the wider community.

We worked hard to top last year's line-up of speakers, bringing in Barry Neild, Global Editor of CNN Travel, along with Joanna Hunkin of Gourmet Traveller and Kirsten Galliot of Qantas Magazine and Travel Insider to share insights on the way their publications are connecting with the industry.”

The program featured a series of discussions covering topics such as press trips, what makes a headline stand out, the elements of good storytelling and much more.

The day also featured two highly-engaging panel sessions with top editors and PR professionals to discuss insights into PR in the next decade, what travel editors are looking for and how the industry can collaborate more effectively.

The Summit was held at The Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour over an eight-hour period followed by networking drinks for delegates to come together and discuss the day's learnings and forge stronger relationships with media and like-minded industry professionals.
