The Strand Yangon has been at the centre of Yangon's social scene for over a century and the 2019 festive season promises to be the luxury heritage hotel's most memorable yet. From a large Christmas tree made of champagne bottles in the lobby, and Moët & Hennessy champagne cocktails in The Sarkies Bar, to festive dining at The Strand Café and gastronomic dinners at The Strand Restaurant, The Strand Yangon yet again brings an elegant and modern touch to the traditional Christmas and New Year celebrations.
COUNTDOWN TO THE FESTIVE SEASON
Christmas arrives at The Strand Yangon on 2nd December 2019 in the shape of a sparkling and show-stopping 11-foot high champagne Christmas tree in the lobby created from 50 bottles of Moët & Hennessy's signature champagne, Veuve Clicquot, topped with a magnum bottle, all in the brand's iconic orange and green livery. The decadent and bubbly theme continues to The Sarkies Bar, where from 2nd December, four special Chandon cocktails will be on offer, as well as Moët & Chandon Champagne by the glass.
The four festive Chandon sparkling wine cocktails on the menu at The Sarkies Bar include French 75, a blend of gin, lemon juice, syrup and Chandon sparkling wine; Raspberry 57, mixing raspberries with a red berry puree, vodka and Chandon sparkling wine; and Strawberry Bowler, strawberries, cognac, syrup, white wine and Chandon sparkling wine. The final cocktail is the Moët Golden Glamour, a cocktail specially created for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards in 2010 that combines vanilla rum, syrup, passion fruit puree with Chandon sparkling wine.
