On Wednesday, June 18th, InterContinental Hong Kong's 1-Michelin star STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill presents a wine dinner showcasing wines from eclectic boutique RedHeads Studio Winery from South Australia (McLaren Vale / Barossa Valley).
The dinner will feature six RedHeads Studio wines, paired with a 4-course menu by STEAK HOUSE Chef Chiu Ching Chan for HK$1,488 + 10% service per person. RedHeads Studio's “renegade” and eclectic group of like-minded boutique winemakers “make small batch wines from big ideas.” Dan Graham, the Chef Winemaker of RedHeads Studio will be at THE STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill to personally introduce his wines.
The showcased wines, known for their unconventional names, quirky labels and excellent quality include:
- PRINCESS OF THIEVES, GRENACHE, SHIRAZ, MOUVEDRE 2014 served with canapés.
- YARD DOG WHITE 2012 paired with Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, with Blood Orange, Meli Melo Tomato Salad
- DAN' JANGO, SHIRAZ 2014 served with Slow Cooked Iberico Pork Belly, New Potatoes, Risotto Style
- MOHAWK, CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013 & WHIP-HAND, CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2008 paired with Pepper Crushed US Beef Tenderloin Swiss Brown Mushrooms, Asparagus and Beef Jus
- RETURN OF THE LIVING RED served with Intense 70% Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Sauce

About Red Heads Studio Winery
Redheads Studio is a project founded by British wine curator Tony Laithwaite in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Red Heads was a bar, which Laithwaite transformed into a wine bar, winery and small batch production facility. He hired a group of talented “Barrel Monkeys,” oenologists working manual jobs at other vineyards who were often left out of the creative process. RedHeads Vineyard has given them an opportunity to display their talents and produce something unique. Its wines have a reputation for excellent structure and value. RedHeads Studio combines winemaking talent with an innovative flair.
RedHeads Studio recently moved from McLaren Vale to the Barossa Valley in an endeavour to keep RedHeads cutting edge. It maintains its passion for high quality wines and to always try something different.
The Redheads Studio winery is constantly evolving since its initial venture by young winemakers. It has its roots in the Flying Winemaker days of the late 1980s and 90s, when Australia's best and brightest winemakers would travel to Europe for the northern hemisphere vintage, only to return home to continue their employment with mega wineries, yet unable to apply the ideas they were inspired by in Europe.
Raising enough funds to buy a former curry house restaurant called Redheads, the founders saw no reason to change the name. It was founded as a place where small producers could come to create their own wines behind closed doors in the dead of night, returning to work the following morning to their unsuspecting employers somewhat the worse for wear. It was inevitable that Redheads would start developing its own labels, with the names of the wines and the quirky labels adding further colour and flavour to the venture. RedHeads exports to the UK, USA, Canada, Denmark and Singapore.
THE STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill is open daily for dinner and on Saturdays and Sundays for lunch.
