InterContinental Hong Kong's 1-Michelin star STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill, in association with Estates & Wines, The Moët Hennessy Wine Division, will present a Showcase Wine Dinner, hosted by Annette Scarfe, one of Asia's five Masters of Wine, on June 3, 2015.
Moët Hennessy Estates & Wines is a unique collection of prestigious wine properties representing four continents. The MH Icon Wine Collection contains the flagship and iconic wines of all these prestigious brands, including:

On June 3, STEAK HOUSE guests will have a unique opportunity to experience and taste wines from these prestigious and diverse boutique wineries with Annette Scarfe, Master of Wine, personally introducing the wines. The 4-course dinner by STEAK HOUSE Chef Chiu Ming Chan, paired with 5 iconic wines and Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 2006 as the aperitif during the welcome reception, is HK$1.488 + 10% service per person.

Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon 2008, Margaret River, Australia
Cape Mentelle is one of Margaret River's founding wineries, pioneering many of the region's renowned wine styles. Cape Mentelle established its first vineyards in 1970 on a site located between the Township and the Cape from which it takes its name. The Cape, at the entrance to the Margaret River, was named after the Mentelle brothers, famous French geographers, by Nicholas Baudin who charted the coast in 1801. In the early 1980ablished its first vineyards in 1970 on a site located between the Township and the Cape from which it takes its name. The Cape, at the entrance to the Margaret River, was named after the Mentelle Sauvignons.
Grape Varieties: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes: It is a dark vibrant ruby red. It is deeply complex with intense black currant, rolled tobacco, violet, wet slate, Dutch cocao, iodine and wild thyme. It is powerful and intense with a deep concentrated marriage of fruit flavours, liquorice and courveture. The characteristic fine yet firm structural tannins frame the fruit perfectly and carry the flavours and balance the mineral elements from the vineyard.

Casa Lapostolle Clos Aplata 2010, Colchagua Valley, Chile
Lapostolle was founded by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband Cyril de Bournet in 1994. The Marnier Lapostolle family, founders and owners of the world-renowned liqueur Grand Marnier, is famous for producing spirits and liqueurs, but the family has also been involved in winemaking for generations. In creating Lapostolle, the family has pursued the same uncompromising approach to quality that made Grand Marnier a global success. Their objective is as simple as it is ambitious: to create world-class wines using French expertise and the superb terroirs of Chile.
Grape Varieties: 57% Carmenère; 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot
Tasting Notes: It is dark and deep inky purple red colour. It has a complex nose, opening towards ripe and expressive red and black fruit, such as plums, red cherries, dried figs and blueberries, with spices such as vanilla, clover and black pepper. With a concentrated structure, this wine has a round attack followed by velvety and polished tannins filling the mid palate and a ripe and rich long lasting finish.

Cheval des Andes 2009, Mendoza, Argentina
Cheval des Andes is a New World “Grand Cru” which combines the art of “assemblage” of Bordeaux's Premier “Grand Cru Classé A”: Cheval Blanc and the best Argentine “terroir” with the 1929 Malbec from Terrazas de los Andes. The result of such magical encounter is a refined, subtle and complex New World “Grand Cru”.
Grape Varieties: 59%Malbec, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot
Tasting Notes: It has an Intense red colour with purplish tinges and is elegant and complex. It has eccentric peat, bay leaf, licorice and cinnamon notes that appear and harmonise with ripe fruits such as figs, raspberries and plums. It also has subtle tobacco notes that add to its complexity. Revealing a nice texture, it is oily and unctuous in the mouth. It is a powerful and mature wine that retains freshness and has a delicate long finish.

Boroli Barolo Cerequio 2005, Barolo, Italy
Barolo, one of the most renowned appellations of Italy is located in Piemonte at the base of the Italian Alps. Known as “the wine of Kings, King of Wines”, during the mid-19th century, Barolo was a favorite among the nobility of Turin and the ruling House of Savoy. It is the most prestigious appellation in Italy, raised to DOCG status in 1980 when the DOCG category was created. It is a unique and very small appellation (1700ha). It is made from the Nebbiolo grape, an indigenous varietal from Piemonte region with one of the longest annual growth cycles.
Grape Varieties: 100% Nebbiolo
Tasting Notes: It is an intense garnet red with orange hues. The nose has delicate aromas of rose and violet with spicy undertones. It is rich and mellow with vanilla notes and a very pleasant dark berry aftertaste.

Numanthia 2010, Noro, Spain
With its heritage of Spanish history & its exceptional natural potential, Numanthia provides an intense & vibrant flavour experience. A reference winery of Toro, Numanthia is one of the most sought-after Spanish appellations. It has received outstanding ratings: Termanthia 2004 - 100 points; Numanthia 2004 – 96 points. Its unique ungrafted vineyards have vines that are over 120 years old. With an epic heritage, the brand name evokes the antique city of Numancia, whose inhabitants resisted heroically to the Romans and preferred to die rather than surrender.
Grape Varieties: 100% Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo)
Tasting Notes: This wine is rich, bright red with intense ruby glints. This intensely aromatic wine displays black fruit, particularly of blueberries and black currants, accompanied by notes of figs and sweet cream pastries. It is an intense, robust and vivacious wine with a phenomenal structure that has an impressive fruit expression together with perfectly ripened tannins that lead to a meaty mouthfeel. It has a long and persistent finish of tobacco leaves and balsamic notes that highlight the complexity of this wine.

About Annette Scarfe, Master of Wine
Annette Scarfe is a member of the prestigious Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW) that has just over 300 members. Annette, who gained her title in 2012, is one of only five Masters of Wine residing in Asia. A former investment banker, she decided to pursue her interest in wine to embark on an entirely new career. She now works as an independent consultant, primarily in London, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Annette is a regular member of magazine tasting panels and judges wine competitions in the UK, France, and Hong Kong. She is a WSET certified educator and educates on the topic of Bordeaux.
