The Snow Is Falling in Park City, Utah and Its Beginning to Look a Lot Like Winter!

Visit Park City

The 2015/16 ski season heralds a new era in Park City, Utah, with the completion of a $50 million renovation connecting Park City Mountain Resort with the former Canyons Resort. Park City (the combined ski areas' new name) offers over 7,300 acres of ski terrain, over 300 named pistes and 41 ski lifts, plus a wide selection of ski-in/ski-out and village adjacent lodging.

The new high speed two-way gondola, Quicksilver, will take guests from the base of the existing Silverlode Lift at Park City to the Flatiron Lift area at Canyons. There will also be an additional mid-station at the top of Pine Cone Ridge, allowing skiers and riders the opportunity to ski into Thaynes Canyon via gated ski access or to the Iron Mountain area through new trails.

In a nutshell, this development by owners Vail Resorts, has created the largest ski lift accessible ski area in the USA, with an official opening date of 18th December, although some of the ski area has a planned opening date of November 21st.

The season is already shaping up well with Deer Valley, Park City's award winning ski area reporting heavy falls of snow in the last few days. Deer Valley – one of Utah's two 'skiers only' resorts - is scheduled to open on December 5th.

Up to 35 cms of snow has fallen across Utah ski areas since November 10th with another big storm set to hit early next week.  It really is beginning to look like winter ski season in Park City!
