The Rock Oyster Festival is a mid-summer celebration of food, music and art which is held annually at the stunning venue of 17th century Dinham House overlooking the Camel Estuary near Wadebridge. This year the festival runs from the 21st-23rd June with early bird tickets now on sale from £46 each.
The festival includes a wide range of great live music, circus acts, fantastic family entertainment as well as some of the best local producers showcasing delights from the ever-present oysters to steaks. Even if you aren't a confirmed oyster lover, you can give them a go or opt for something else equally delicious! It is believed that oyster fishing has taken place in Cornwall since the earliest trade with the Phoenicians over 2,000 years ago.
Charlotte Church who is the world's most successful classical crossover female artist and won a classic BRIT award for British Artist of the Year in 2000 headlined the festival last year. It is expected that another well-known star will feature in 2013 as well. The festival has always been a popular and successful event with over 5000 people heading down last year.
If you're interested in checking out the event for yourself, Cornish Horizons Holiday Cottages have a great selection of self catering cottages and holiday homes to choose from.
