Here is one smartly curated list of organic cafes, juice bars, yoga studios, great hikes and more, shared with the RWH Concierge by W Hollywood resident and sales team member Michele Montany.
- There are two raw juice bars within walking distance of the W: Life Food Organic on Caheunga and Real Raw Live on Franklin. Both are delicious. For an all-vegan menu with amazing raw dishes and an organic wine list, Café Gratitude is a Los Angeles favorite. And it's only 1.5 miles away on Larchmont.
- I absolutely love practicing yoga, and there are several wonderful studios in Hollywood. Two of my favorites are Yoga Works, which recently opened right across the street on Vine. It's got a membership-style studio with up to 16 classes a day, so I go four or five times a week and usually see at least one other W Resident in every class.
- There's also Golden Bridge Yoga, I love this place! One and a half miles down Sunset on Highland, Golden Bridge offers Kundalini and hot yoga classes, meditation workshops, over 100 classes every week. The studio is also home to a vegetarian cafe, and is one of the longest-running yoga studios in California.
- I also enjoy hiking and walking throughout the neighborhood. I often start my walks right from the W, and head up Franklin toward Beachwood or Bronson Canyons. There are hiking trails at the end of both roads (including one to the Batman Caves), but a lot of the fun for me is just exploring the neighborhoods -- and I always spot something I didn't notice before.
- There are so many interesting things to see, including the gardens, and architecture of the winding streets under the Hollywood Sign in the historic Hollywoodland neighborhood. There are several 85-year-old hidden stone stairways that connect the roads. My favorite has 150 super-steep steps ascending between the historic Normand style castle houses (who needs a gym?), and there are always friendly people out walking their dogs.
- You can also drive five minutes from the W to Griffith Park, where you'll fine more than 50 miles of winding trails. The views never get old, and it's another great place to meet fellow walkers or just soak in the outdoors.
- A big favorite trail for a lot of people in LA is Runyon Canyon Park. It's steep, scenic, and a good place to meet people – or watch people -- and dogs can be off-leash, just two blocks from Hollywood Boulevard.
