Sliders race each other to the finish line at speeds of up to 40km per hour on the new eight-lane slide which accommodates 1500 people per hour and increases ride capacity at the park by 30 per cent.
The Super 8 Aqua Racer is a revolutionary new experience for sliders with the need for speed and the thirst for victory.
Guests plunge head-first down the 86 metre-long lanes in a bid to determine the fastest Aqua Racers around. A state of the art Seiko timing system displays lane placings with an accuray down to 1/1000th of a second.
Since opening in 1984, Wet'n'Wild Water World has doubled in size with innovative slides, pools, activities, landscaping and guest ammenities added to keep pace with the park's ever-increasing popularity.
"Wet'n'Wild Water World has experienced incredible growth over the past few years and with the introduction of this great new attraction, guests have an even bigger world of water to explore," said General Manager Steve Peet.
As part of Warner Village Theme Parks' ongoing commitment to improving Wet'n'Wild's world-class facilities and attractions, the Super 8 Aqua Racer is designed for racers, both young and young at heart; so the whole family can race each other!
The Super 8 Aqua Racer is the first of its kind in Australia. The slide consists of 26 tonnes of coated steel supporting the slide's belly which contains enough fibreglass to construct 9000 surfboards.
Rising 12.5 metres into the air, the slide is highly visible from the eight-lane Pacific Highway route.
