Leading Luxury Ski Travel Agent, The Oxford Ski Company are always keeping their ear to the ground listening out for the latest murmurs coming from resorts across Europe & North America. Following the completion of their extensive end of season review, their findings present an optimistic picture ahead for one French resort in particular.
With over 15 years experience under their belt, The Oxford Ski Company has witnessed many a ski season come and go; more than they'd care to admit in fact for fear of giving away their Founder's age! But one thing is for sure, their ability to predict trends and pinpoint where the winter's 'hot-spots' will be is second to none.
Following an in-depth analysis and review of seasons' passed, The Oxford Ski Company predict that for this coming winter 2014/15 season the resort in the spotlight will be Chamonix. Not only is this resort easily accessible through being just an hour's transfer from Geneva airport. But with the start of a 40 year €477 million Euro investment plan currently taking place as we speak, there will be much to shout about in Chamonix for this season.
A new state of the art 10 man gondola will be replacing the tired 4-man chair lift in Grands Montet area ensuring faster (and warmer!) access to one of the top ski areas of this resort. As well as a new beginner ski area due to be unveiled this winter in the Brévent-Flégère Ski area at a staggeringly snow-sure height of 2,000m, Chamonix has never have been more accessible for all levels of skiers. Historically Chamonix, made famous by the towering Mont Blanc, was believed to be a resort reserved for intermediate to advanced skiers. However, with these renovations and huge investments taking place, Chamonix will undoubtedly be a resort that will rightly be able to rival the claim of being the best all round resort in France.
And the accommodation in resort is jumping on board with this facelift too. This season marks the debut for a fantastic ski in – ski out chalet in the ski area of Les Houches. Ideal for families, Chalet Amano boasts stunning views over the Chamonix valley from not only the floor to ceiling windows in the glorious open plan living area but also from the privately positioned hot tub upon the sun drenched decking area. Recently returned from a trip here, Specialist Sales Consultant, Franki Hutchins, was full of its praises: “Finding a ski in, ski out chalet in the Chamonix Valley is always hard so when I visited Chalet Amano I was blown away! Pure luxury on the slopes.” Sleeping up to 12 guests in 5 en-suite bedrooms, Chalet Amano is a very exciting addition to one of France's premier ski resorts.
