The Opposite House has released oppositehouse Vol 1, a CD of 10 tracks by some of China�s young and talented musicians. This limited edition album was specially created for guests to enjoy in-house and is not for sale. There are also plans in the pipeline to produce oppositehouse Vol 2.

The 10 artists come from different musical backgrounds, but share a common ground of steering away from the mainstream. This album successfully merges China�s modern bohemian spirit with traditional Chinese musical instruments, capturing the inspirations of the country�s young generation of musicians.

Featured tracks include �8MM� by China�s most well known electronic pop band Yu Fei Men (YFM) from Guangzhou and �Design� by Pet Conspiracy fronted by lead vocalist Helen Feng, known for her distinct voice and feisty live acts. YMF is releasing their fifth album this summer, mixed by UK producer Howie B, while Pet Conspiracy has just finished a successful European tour and continues to be one of the hottest live acts in Beijing.

The �Diamond� cover art was designed by Chinese artist George Chang who spent 15 years in New York City and returned to Beijing with vivid visual memories. The co-founder of Redbox Studio Beijing explained that the artwork of gouache and graphite on paper is �an object representing a surreal moment of deja-vu�.

General Manager Anthony Ross believes that �creating this CD featuring these really talented young musicians extends our support for contemporary Chinese art of all kinds. It also adds another dimension to the way we strive to create an all-encompassing lifestyle in Beijing�.
