The Oitavos, the five-star luxury hotel and spa on Portugal's Estoril Coast near Lisbon, and the award winning 18-hole Oitavos Dunes golf course will bring guests the opportunity to participate in the fourth edition of The Oitavos Classic golfing tournament between 5th February and 8th February 2015.
Oitavos Dunes, adjacent to the hotel and designed by renowned American golf course architect Arthur Hills, was given a prestigious 65th ranking in GOLF Magazine's 2013 Top 100 Courses in the World (and the number 1 ranked course in Portugal). It was also named a Certified Gold Audubon Signature Sanctuary, the highest designation awarded by golf's most prestigious environmental management program, Audubon International's Signature Sanctuary Program. A natural links golf experience, every hole on the course offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and nearby Sintra mountains, providing a challenging but fair test of a golfer's abilities.
Perfect for golf aficionados, this international golf tournament offers golfers the chance to combine the challenge and excitement of playing one of the world's great golf courses in a friendly atmosphere, with relaxation and luxury included within the three-night Oitavos Classic package.
The “Oitavos Classic” package starts at €669 for a single bedroom and €924 for a double bedroom, including:
- A three-night stay at The Oitavos in a Superior Room
- Complimentary buffet breakfast at Ipsylon Restaurant
- Three rounds of golf at Oitavos Dunes per person, per stay
- Welcome cocktail at Ipsylon Bar & Lounge
- Awards dinner at Ipsylon Restaurant on the 8th February
- Prizes and trophies
The offer is valid from 5th February to 8th February 2015 and rates include taxes and services, and are subject to availability. For reservations please contact Mariana Gonçalves – mbgoncalves@theoitavos.com. Please note that a golf handicap certificate is mandatory.
Favourites of the 18 holes include the spectacular 14th Hole, much loved by Paul McGinley, three-time member of the winning Ryder Cup team. The par three is played out in to the Ocean, with stiff winds to negotiate and a well guarded green. Paul Lawrie, British Open Winner 1999, prefers the 143 meters par three ninth hole where players are face to face with the open landscape, the mountains and no shelter from the wind.
