Head Chef Michael Tweedie propels fine-dining restaurant onto world class stage and Head of Wines & Beverage Jurica Gojevic wins major new Michelin Sommelier Award
Limerick, Ireland – Two years following its highly anticipated debut, The Oak Room at Adare Manor has received Michelin star recognition, becoming the only starred restaurant in County Limerick. Head of Wines & Beverage Jurica Gojevic was also awarded the new Sommelier Award 2020 at the Michelin Guide to Great Britain & Ireland ceremony in London on Monday October 7th.

Helmed by Head Chef Michael Tweedie — originally from Devon and runner-up for 2017's San Pellegrino Young Chef Award — The Oak Room plays a leading role in redefining Irish fare in an unparalleled setting overlooking the River Maigue. Recognition by the world's premier culinary authority has always been the vision. Even before Adare Manor opened its doors, the pre-opening food and beverage team embarked on a nine-day gastronomy road trip to source the country's best produce from local purveyors and artisans, and have continued doing so with a more recent five-day trip around the country in September 2019. An essential step in building The Oak Room's core pillar of tasting the terroir, these trips have become an inspiration for the refined dishes on the menu that celebrate the country's vibrant landscape.

Today, the community of growers, farmers, fishermen and producers featured across Adare Manor menus are from all four corners of the island. Closer to home, Michael Tweedie and his team forage & gather ingredients from the estate grounds too, for guests to experience a taste of Adare Manor itself.
The Oak Room is polished and sophisticated, yet relaxed. Throughout the year, Restaurant Manager Liam Simpson, formerly of Chez Bruce, and The Oak Room team guide guests on a journey inspired by the season in which they are dining. Guests can choose a three-course à la carte fixed price menu or opt for a tasting market menu. The extensive and adventurous wine-list, curated by Head of Wines and Beverage Jurica Gojevic, offers thoughtful pairings for both menu experiences to perfectly complement each dish. On the menu, exquisite seafood, sustainably farmed meats and game, and the bright flavours of freshly-picked vegetables take guests on a seasonally-focused experience through the distinctive terroirs of Ireland.
The Oak Room at Adare Manor is open 7 days a week, with the exception of January 13th – February 10th 2020 when guests are welcome from Tuesday through Sunday. The Oak Room is one of five dining outlets at Adare Manor including: The Carriage House, headed by Chef John O'Leary, an all-day dining destination with an exceptional grill restaurant, bar and lounge, spacious glazed terrace, cigar lounge and private dining chamber; The Drawing Room, a convivial space for light meals; The Tack Room, a glamorous cocktail bar with a menu created by Ariel Sanecki and home to a rare whiskey collection sourced from around the world; and The Gallery which serves traditional Afternoon Tea in an elegant setting.

Adare Manor
This castle hotel is situated in the heart of Adare Village in County Limerick. Steeped in history and surrounded by medieval ruins, Adare Manor completed a ground-breaking 21-month transformation in November 2017. The largest restoration project of its kind in Ireland, the renovation and expansion honours the building's architectural heritage as a Neo-Gothic masterpiece while incorporating the latest in contemporary luxury. Most notably, the expansion includes a new 42-bedroom wing, which increased accommodations to a total of 104 guest rooms, a ballroom which can host up to 350 guests, as well as a redesigned golf course by award-winning designer Tom Fazio. The 842 acres of Adare Manor's beautiful parkland, walled gardens and walking trails will be enhanced and will offer an extensive range of pursuits, including falconry, archery, clay pigeon shooting, fishing, state of the art spa and cinema.
