The Normandy Tourist Board has launched its Normandy Foodie blog, which will provide a unique insight into Norman gastronomy and everything the region has to offer the gourmet traveller.

Future blog posts will include features on food festivals, gastronomic hotspots, local markets, visits to local producers and farmers in the region, and Norman recipes to try at home.

Travellers seeking an authentic culinary experience are spoilt for choice with the vast array of local specialities to be found in Normandy. This diverse region excels in the kitchen, from fine dining to home cooking, from a delicious apple tart to a humble slice of buttered baguette. For a taste of the sea, there are eye-catching seafood platters, while meat lovers will relish a traditional Norman boudin (black pudding) or a leg of salt-marsh lamb from the famous Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel.

As for the region's world-famous cheeses – Camembert, Pont-l'Eveque, Livarot and Neufchatel – they are best enjoyed with some fresh crusty bread and washed down with glass of Norman cider or the famous tipple, Calvados.

The blog is now live, so follow us and find out what mouth-watering events are going on in one of France's most delicious destinations!
