This summer, the magic of Monet's famous water gardens in Normandy comes to the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show from Tuesday 30th June to Sunday 5th July with the press day on Monday 29th June.
In anticipation of the 2016 Normandy Impressionist Festival, the Normandy Tourist Board will be hosting an Impressionist Garden designed by James Priest, Head Gardener at the Fondation Claude Monet in Giverny.
Claude Monet's gardens, nestled along the banks of the Seine, are world renowned thanks to the famous paintings they inspired. Today, Monet's House and Gardens have become an international pilgrimage site for garden enthusiasts and art lovers alike.
Monet's forty plus years at Giverny inspired hundreds of paintings depicting the famous lily ponds, the Japanese bridge and the brightly coloured floral alleys but also, the agapanthus flowers. Along with the key elements of Monet's world famous water gardens, the Normandy Impressionist Garden recreates these lesser known works of Monet bringing the agapanthus to the fore.
