THE MOUNTAINS COME TO SOUTH KENSINGTON!

ERNA LOW LAUNCH “UP UP AND AWAY” ON THE WALL @SW7

An exciting collaboration between Ski Holiday and Property specialist, Erna Low and the artist, Johny Midnight is bringing a beautiful winter scene to picturesque Reece Mews, SW7 that has been home to the Erna Low offices in South Kensington, London since the 1950s.

Launching on 9th July, this scene, entitled, “Up up and away” will be worked on over the coming weeks by artist Johny Midnight. The first few snow covered trees and skiers have already started to appear on the wall.

Joanna Yellowlees-Bound, CEO at Erna Low comments, “It all started at the London Ski Show last October when I bought some raffle tickets from the charity, the Cancer Caring Trust. As a result of that, I now own a Johny Midnight picture. I then decided it would be a fantastic idea to commission Johny to do a painting on the Reece Mews wall outside our office. Our neighbours have been hugely supportive and we are excited to add to the existing art heritage of the local area, with some of our local buildings including Sir Francis Bacon's old studio and the world famous Christie's auction house.”

Erna Low will be supporting the Cancer Caring Trust at the launch event of “Up up and away” on Thursday 9th July 2015.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Johny Midnight's inspiration comes from his own life's adventures, so it's no surprise that he holds a special passion for painting mountain scenes, having spent several years working from his gallery in Chamonix - arguably one of the most awe-inspiring landscapes in the Alps.

After spending a year in the Caribbean, Johny has now settled in London and his portfolio has expanded to reflect this, with subjects including a study of the local Caribbean ex-pat community and his unique perspective on famous London scenes. www.gallerymidnight.com
