THE MONTHLY POUR AT BISTRO X BRINGS VICTORIA'S LEADING WINE REGIONS TO MELBOURNE THIS WINTER
A Victorian winemaker dinner series in Fitzroy
Across three evenings this winter, Bistro X at The StandardX Melbourne is inviting guests to explore some of Victoria's most celebrated wine regions without leaving the city, launching The Monthly Pour, a seasonal dinner series celebrating local producers and regional stories.
Taking place on the last Friday of each winter month, the intimate dining series will welcome a line-up of respected Victorian winemakers to Fitzroy, offering an opportunity to experience the character of the Mornington Peninsula, Macedon Ranges and Yarra Valley through thoughtfully paired food, wine and conversation.
The series features Shadowfax Wines (Werribee), Ocean Eight (Mornington Peninsula) and Helen & Joey Estate (Yarra Valley).
Guests will begin the evening with arrival drinks before settling in for three curated courses, each paired with a selection of wines chosen and poured by the visiting winemaker.
Available for $99 per person, or $250 for all three events, the series is designed to be approachable, interactive and conversation-led, creating a space where wine enthusiasts and curious newcomers can gather around the same table.
The first event will welcome Shadowfax Wines on Friday 26 June, with winemaker Alister Timms guiding guests through a selection of wines from the Macedon Ranges and Werribee, paired with seasonal dishes from the Bistro X kitchen including duck liver tartelette and pickled persimmon, mussels on toast, and duck breast with cherry jus, duck leg terrine and shallot tarte tatin.
Menus for subsequent dinners will be announced ahead of each event.
Shirin Harvison, Food & Beverage Manager at The StandardX Melbourne, says the series was created as a celebration of regional Victoria and the role hospitality plays in bringing people together.
