The Monte-Carlo "Woman of the Year 2021 award” Under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and the Honorary Presidency of H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco is an international prize aimed at celebrating women from all over the world for their personal or professional activity, in whatever sector.
As the sanitary situation remains delicate, the award ceremony created by journalist Cinzia Sgambati Colman will take place in a virtual format on the 7th of October 2021.
The tenth edition will take place on monday 2 May 2022 in the Principality of Monaco, at the Salle Empire of the hotel de Paris reuniting in presence all the winners from 2021 and 2022.
The event is sponsored by Walgreens Boots Alliance,the leading global pharmacy-led health and wellbeing company.
This year, the theme of the Prize is “Women and Scientific research”
Docteur Nada Raddaoui is the recipient of the Monte Carlo award “Women of the year”2021. graduated from Munich University, this brilliant Tunisian chemistry doctor discovered a new process for blood cancer diagnosis; a huge progress to fight this disease.
The second prize, “Special Monte-Carlo prize” goes to Professor Giovanna Tinetti. Based in London, this Italian professor head of the Group of astrophysics at University College London pioneered the discovery of steam water on K2-18B, a planet beyond our solar system. She is currently running the ESA ARIEL project.
The third prize, “Women of the year in Monaco” , rewards Professor Iolanda Osvath. Scientific researcher at the AIEA laboratory in Monaco, Iolanda has developed innovative methods to measure environmental impact of radionuclides trace elements and organic contaminants, as well as climate change, habitat destruction and biodiversity loss. Her research grants a fundamental role to the Principality of Monaco in the international arena for environmental research.

The recipients have all left their mark, contributing to the greater good through their initiatives,using their influence and work to drive positive change, their unique achievements are impossible to compare against each other which is why these awards are a celebration rather than a ranking.
