London, 7 March 2017 – The Montague on the Gardens in Bloomsbury is launching its very own Jazz Week for the first time, taking place nightly in its all-new Leopard Bar from 13-17 March, 2017. Playing from 18:30 until late, resident three piece band, The Blazers will provide nightly entertainment throughout the Montague Jazz Week, with covers of jazz favourites from across the ages.
Boasting super star industry credentials, The Blazers' saxophonist, Martin Winning has played with Van Morrison and Ray Charles, appearing with the musical icons on stage and performing on hit records. Inspired by artists such as Louis Armstrong, Charles Brown and Nat King Cole, the three-piece band will be performing golden hits from the songbook of the 1940s and '50s.
With performances taking place in The Montague's completely refurbished Leopard Bar, guests will be able to relax in luxurious surroundings at the award-winning Central London hotel. In a nod to its South African ownership, the Leopard Bar is sumptuously decorated, and offers a wide range of cocktails, craft beers, fine wines, bar snacks and more, creating the perfect backdrop for an evening of jazz.
For something really special, The Montague's team of expert mixologists have created a signature 'Leopard Cocktail'. Blending Snow Leopard Vodka, Frangelico and Amarula Liquor, the drink is served in a martini glass with “leopard spots” to create the perfect aperitif to accompany an evening of music. (*Recipe below.)
Once the inaugural Jazz Week comes to an end, The Blazers will continue to be a fixture at The Montague's Leopard Bar on Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the year.
