Hosted in lavishly adorned rooms at The Ritz, the annual Mayfair Awards took place on Tuesday 25th October 2016 and celebrated those who have contributed to the exclusive community of Mayfair. Nigel Havers presented seventeen awards across a variety of categories that recognised luxury shops, hotels, bars, restaurants, and a host of other worthy recipients. The headline sponsor, Pastor Real Estate, pledged its support to the illustrious awards, which are held by The Mayfair Magazine.

Held to celebrate the outstanding contributors to the Mayfair community, the Mayfair Awards were held on 25th October 2016 in the heart of London. As the headline sponsor, Pastor Real Estate pledged its support to the awards for another year, expressing its enduring appreciation for those who enrich this unique region of the city.

Since the Duke of Westminster first developed Mayfair from a site that was literally the location of a much-adored fayre in May, this enchanting area has become one of the most fashionable, elite and treasured parts of London.

Organised by The Mayfair Magazine, The Mayfair awards recognise the hard-working businesses, individuals and organisations that serve the area, with 17 different categories providing scope for recipients in an array of industries. Hannah Lemon, Editor of The Mayfair Magazine, commented on the allure of Mayfair:

“The Mayfair Magazine is delighted to be hosting The Mayfair Awards for the fifth year to celebrate the people who invest so much in the community. The area's rich history is as vibrant as ever with the beautiful boutiques on Bond Street, the master tailors of Savile Row and renowned art galleries. While new restaurants, plush renovations and art exhibitions add a breath of fresh air. The Mayfair Awards provides the chance to recognise these unique businesses, from the Best Independent Fashion Boutique to the Best Perfumer, as well as hardworking and talented individuals with the Local Hero and Outstanding Contribution to Mayfair awards.”

This year, the glamorous awards ceremony was held at The Ritz, London, where five rooms of the William Kent House were specially designed by luxury event planner, Bruce Russell.

Paul Thomas, florist to the Ritz, royalty and the stars, provided the floral arrangements, which spectacularly adorned the stunning room. Roja Dove provided scented candles, which ensured the room was beautifully fragrant.

To the delight of those in attendance, artist Ayumi Toyashi drew guests' portraits, while others enjoyed whisky cocktails from The Macallan and champagne from Billecart-Salmon. The Ritz London, which boasts a Michelin star, served a sumptuous selection of gourmet food.

David Lee, Head of Sales at Pastor Real Estate, was one of the judges on the board of the awards. Reflecting on the strong collection of nominees, he said:

“With such an incredible selection of entries from which to choose, and the fact that the standards are so high, it is a difficult decision to choose the most deserving for each award, but luckily there are 8 of us on the awards panel to make the decisions together.”
