We are delighted to announce that The Massey Partnership is now representing The Kings Head in Cirencester.
Located in the heart of this thriving Cotswold town, The Kings Head has been brought back to life following an extensive renovation project which took over 8 years to complete. The restoration project breathed new life into the building, blending the original medieval century architecture with contemporary style to create a light, airy and welcoming hotel in the centre of Cirencester.
Although the exact age of The Kings Head is unknown, it was certainly in existence as a coaching inn in the middle of the fourteenth century and has a rich and exciting history throughout the passing centuries. Nowadays the modern boutique hotel has been innovatively designed to incorporate the preservation of those original features. Oak beams, exposed brick walls, painted masonry and stone walls feature throughout the rooms and public spaces. A Roman mosaic – unearthed during a two-year archaeological dig – is displayed beneath glass flooring in the reception area.
The bedrooms, of which there are 45 in total including 17 suites, are individually decorated in rich hues and warm tones, together with deep filled sofas, fluffy cloudlike duvets and delicious Lubatti bath products. Original features rub shoulders with modern art, with specially commissioned artwork by local artists in each room, and bespoke material featuring scenes from the area used throughout the hotel.
An extensive spa is located in the vaulted cellars, with four treatment rooms, a relaxation room, sauna, steam room, hot tub, experience shower, and fitness suite complete with Matrix equipment. The spa menu features pampering beauty treatments and massages as well as a range of treatments for men and mothers to be. The spa uses British brand Lubatti, founded by Tracey Malone, sister to the famous Jo Malone, and the skincare recipes date back to the 1920's.
The relaxing restaurant offers all day dining in an informal and welcoming atmosphere, from steaming coffee and croissants for the early birds through to lunch, afternoon tea and the buzz of dinner, and night caps until the early hours for the night birds. The open kitchen allows guests to see the chefs at work, with much of the menu prepared on the hot coals of a robata-style grill. The hotel's cosy bar and lounge in the ideal place for coffee with friends, a cocktail from award winning barman Jak Allen or to just hunker down with the weekend papers in front of the wood burning stove.
The Kings Head has a wide array of private dining and event spaces, from the intimate space 'The Cellar' which is idea for 8-16 people, 'The Library' which boasts its own turntable and a variety of vinyl for guests to enjoy, through to the arched walls and ceilings of The Vaulted Cellar and the Grade II listed Cornhall, where up to 400 people can dance the night away.
Situated opposite the beautiful sandstone Church of St John The Baptist, The Kings Head is also perfectly situated for weddings, which can be hosted from £95pp. The Chef can create the prefect wedding breakfast, and the bridal party can enjoy pampering in the spa before their big day.
The Kings Head is the ideal bolthole for those looking to escape to the Cotswold. With fabulous shopping within walking distance, racing at Cheltenham, polo moments away at Cirencester Park and a plethora of country pursuits available to guests, this is the ideal destination for those looking to enjoy a Cotswold break complete with all the creature comforts of a luxury townhouse hotel.
