The Lounge at New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel is once again collaborating with K11 Kulture Academy to present “arteastic” afternoons featuring dedicated hands-on craft workshops followed by an elaborately themed tea set. There will be two themes for the upcoming classes: Coffee x Art – Artsy Afternoon Tea and Visual Art Tea Workshop: The Tea-ny Tiny Canvas, to be held on Sundays, 10 and 17 November, and 24 November and 8 December respectively. The workshops include The Lounge's currently offered Chocolate Bliss Afternoon Tea Set.
Inspired by the upcycling concept, both workshops, instructed by Hong Kong artist Michael Lim, encourage the idea of recycling materials around us while incorporating art into daily life.
Coffee x Art - Artsy Afternoon Tea is specially designed for coffee and art lovers to create their very own drawing with coffee leftovers. During the workshop, guests will paint with liquid coffee on paper, combining images of elements from the natural world. The different intensities and strengths of the coffee “paint” creates depths and varieties of tone, for uniquely subtle masterpieces.
In The Tea-ny Tiny Canvas Visual Art Tea Workshop, guests will create a miniature watercolour painting on a couple of tiny tea bag canvas. Michael will guide all participants through basic painting methods, tonal value and forms, as well as landscape drawing skills.
