The Langham Melbourne is thrilled to announce the addition of 6 stylish Grand Balcony rooms which each feature a spacious 19m² private balcony which overlooks Melbourne's skyline, Flinders Street Station and Yarra River.
By day or by night, the view is spectacular and ever-changing. Guests can bask in the sunshine from one of the balcony's two sun lounges or soak up the view and fresh air from the balcony's dining table.
It's fair to say that it's unusual for a hotel to add on terraces or balconies once the hotel has been built. The idea to do so was the brainwave of the hotel's Managing Director, Ben Sington.
"There are very view five star hotels in Melbourne with outdoor balconies. There are certainly none with our uninterrupted view of the city, so we investigated the possibility of building new balconies as an added feature for our guests to enjoy," explains Sington.
Located on the 10th floor of the hotel, the balconies were retro-fitted following the successful addition in 2011 of the hotel's 7 Terrace Rooms which each feature a 50m² private balcony.
"The new balconies have only been available for a short time, but already they're in high demand, especially on weekends,"adds Sington.
"It's no surprise that ordering the Langham Tiffin Afternoon Tea on the balcony has proven to be most popular with guests. Of course, Champagne and oysters makes the top 10 list too. I recommend to guests to order a picnic, I think that would be a great way to enjoy the room's outdoor setting, "comments Director of Food & Beverage, Anthony Ross.
