The Langham, Hong Kong collaborates with Hatton Studios to launch the first wedding showcase, Rock the Veil by Couture Rocks on 10 June 2015, the same day that the first Langham hotel was established back in 1865. In honour of the Langham's heritage, its 150th Anniversary Day will bring bespoke bridal pieces over a jewelled afternoon tea affair.
Ensuring the ongoing cultivation of Hong Kong's independent jewellers and the craftsmanship they showcase, Hatton Studios has created Couture Rocks in partnership with top stylist, Christie Simpson. The concept is to feature Hong Kong's emerging creative talents.
Introducing Couture Rocks, the exclusive invite-only bridal showcase 'Rock the Veil' presents the eight resident Hatton Studios jewellers and the couture creations of bridal designer Noel Chu. Stylist Simpson paired Chu's 2015 bridal collection with the one-of-a-kind pieces handmade by each of the jewellers in a photo shoot at The Langham, Hong Kong, and will be unveiled at the wedding showcase.
The elegant Palm Court lounge will host the interactive catwalk show, accompanied by “The Langham Afternoon Tea with Wedgwood” experience. Invited guests will have the opportunity to meet the designers while enjoying traditional English afternoon tea that was first served almost 150 years ago at its iconic sister property, The Langham, London.
The jewellery and photographic artwork will be on display in the lobby at The Langham, Hong Kong for public viewing from 11 – 17 June 2015.
To mark Langham Hotel's 150th occasion, couples who book a wedding with 150 guests or more will be able to lease the designer jewellery pieces on their wedding day. Couples will also have the chance to save HK$800 on each table for new weddings booked from 1 November 2015 – 30 April 2016, as well as enjoy a complimentary decorative backdrop, reception table and personalised wedding gift from 1 May – 31 December 2016.
Palm Court also pays tribute to 150 years of hospitality by inviting guests to enjoy 15.0 per cent off on the afternoon tea and receive a complimentary glass of champagne for the month of June and July 2015. When making the reservation, guests are encouraged to say “150th Anniversary” to receive the offer.
