London (15 November, 2016) The Seafire Resort and Spa is Kimpton's first Caribbean property and Cayman's first new hotel in over a decade providing the very best of an island escape in Kimpton's lively style. With the first guests checking in today, the Seafire's contemporary architecture unfolds dramatically to the grounds, the beach and the sea. Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa's luxurious guestrooms and suites reflect the island landscape with vivid colours and sophisticated touches. Views of the Caribbean Sea or the North Sound await guests in nearly all of the 266 guest rooms and suites with amenities including three restaurants (Ave is the flagship), the Spa at Seafire – an 8,500-square-foot facility featuring seven treatment rooms – a 1,770-square-foot fitness centre, and a 7,076-square-foot ballroom.

In other hotel news, the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort and Spa is undergoing a major redesign of its public areas transforming the arrival, retail and pool areas of the hotel. All works are due to be completed by the end of December 2016.

It's not only the hotels that are having an overhaul. The Owen Roberts International Airport in Grand Cayman is also being improved. The project started in 2015 and by the end of its completion the current terminal will have been extended along with the passenger, public and staff parking areas. Phase two of the construction process has now begun which will see the upgrade of the arrivals and departure halls.

With over 16,000 British and Irish visitors enjoying a holiday experience in the region in 2015 and figures already on the up compared to this time last year, we are excited that there is more opportunity for visitors to experience this corner of paradise.”
