The Illinois Office of Tourism (IOT) is proud to announce a new international marketing platform for the state which includes a new advertising focus, website and URL.

On the heels of the new Brand USA campaign; the Illinois Office of Tourism's  goal is to convince international travelers that the road to America begins in Illinois. That's because Illinois offers the ultimate American experience, from the excitement of an American world-class city to the charm of America's heartland. 

 

This new focus is reflected in our summer campaign, "Real America Happens Here," and on our new international website, Discoverillinois.org

 

Everything about Discoverillinois.org is brand new - from its bold visual design to its robust content and features such as:

  • Top Attractions with images showcasing Illinois
  • Embedded Google mapping throughout the site quickly showing the proximity of locations to and from Chicago (often an international visitor's starting point).
  • Incorporating new videos showcasing the wonders of the state, including 400+ miles of Route 66.
  • Experiential Itineraries focusing on Route 66, Chicago, Mississippi River Country and our rich Presidential History.
  • A comprehensive Travel Tips section providing valuable information to make trip planning easier.
  • Content fueled by a database populated by our convention and tourism bureau partners, makes the new website easily expandable to accommodate other languages through a technological innovation built into the system. 

We hope you are excited about this new tool we have created to showcase Illinois. This is only the beginning and we look forward to expanding the site in the future.
