Following last year's successful fundraiser, The Hotel Windsor welcomes back Australian icon Ita Buttrose AO OBE for A High Tea to Remember, in support of Alzheimer's Australia Vic. The event will be held in Melbourne's most cherished grand hotel on Saturday, 4 March 2017.

Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia and there is no cure. More than 413,000 Australians live with dementia making support for Alzheimer's Australia Vic vital to fund support, education and advocacy, to help improve the quality of life of people impacted by dementia.

Ms Buttrose has enjoyed an extensive career across media, publishing and business, and is the National Ambassador of Alzheimer's Australia, the charity and peak body for dementia. “I'm delighted to be returning to The Hotel Windsor again this year for this important Alzheimer's Australia Vic fundraising event. I had a wonderful time last year and am looking forward to seeing lots of new faces, as well as the fabulous tea cosies.”

Guests will have the opportunity to meet the legendary media editor, businesswoman, TV personality and best-selling author as they indulge in exquisite pastries, savoury canapés, traditional scones and ribbon sandwiches presented on three-tiered stands in the stunning, heritage-listed Grand Ballroom, accompanied by French sparkling wine and a menu of fine teas.

In the foyer of the hotel, there will be a display of creative tea cosies, hand-made by the Royal Melbourne Show's talented Tea Cosy Collective. They are available for silent auction to raise funds towards Victoria's fight against dementia.

Leanne Wenig, Acting CEO Alzheimer's Australia Vic said, “We're thrilled to have the support of The Hotel Windsor again this year for these popular events. The demand for Alzheimer's Australia Vic programs and services continues to grow along with the number of people impacted by dementia in Victoria so it's inspiring to have people who support our work get behind this event.”

All profits raised by the events and auction of the amazing tea cosies will support research and delivery of services for people living with dementia, their families and carers.

Director of The Hotel Windsor, Adi Halim said, “We are extremely proud to be supporting Alzheimer's Australia Vic in the fight against dementia by hosting these afternoon tea events with Ita Buttrose to help raise funds and awareness.”

Limited seats are available for each session, and guests are advised to secure tickets early to experience this rare chance to meet Ms Buttrose while supporting an important cause.
