In Five Element philosophy there are five seasons:  Winter, Spring, Summer, Late Summer, and Autumn.  The Late Summer, harvest time, which begins around the third week of August until the Autumn equinox, is the best time to support the Earth element, which in Chinese Medicine relates to the stomach, spleen and pancreas. A Night of Abundant Splendour is an opportunity to celebrate the Harvest Moon on 21 September and connect with this season and element. Over a beautiful meal celebrating the bounty of our planet, guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the Earth element as it relates to our health and to the season, exploring the significance of these three organs in Traditional Chinese Medicine beyond the physical. The Earth element informs our ability to reap our own harvest, see abundance, experience gratitude and 'digest' our life experiences and our ability to nourish ourselves and others.

The evening includes a guided meditation and journaling prompts and exercises to aid reflection and illumination. Guests will come away with a seasonal self-care protocol using Essential Oils on acupuncture points as well as a gift including the relevant oils.

Continuing an exploration of the Earth element on 23 September, founder and Five Element Acupuncturist Claire Dabreo will be running a free online seasonal self-care session inspired by the Late Summer season, which will include the opportunity to sign up to the online programme for the coming season at a discounted rate.

The Autumn season explores the Metal element, which is comprised of the lung and large intestine/colon meridians and is associated with grief, letting go, respect, self-worth, discernment, value, and recognition. At this time of year, as the trees shed their leaves, we are encouraged to let go of that which no longer serves us so that we may allow space for new growth, identify what we have that is of value and spend some time in reflection.  The annual online programme for 2021/22, beginning with the Autumn season, kicks off on 11 October, with registration opening from the 20 September.

A further, in-depth immersion into the energy of the Metal element takes place on 5 November with a seasonal day retreat. The day, in collaboration with Nina Carter (Breathwork With Nina), encourages participants to harness the power of Conscious Connected breathwork for a day that promises to be truly transformational. The technique works on releasing trapped emotions and trauma stored in the body by learning to breathe consciously so that we can uncover, and release, limiting beliefs and thought patterns.  Claire will share knowledge on working with specific Essential Oils on acupuncture points to support the seasonal energy, share insights into the role of the Lung and Colon from a Chinese Medicine perspective and offer journaling prompts to work with post-retreat.

The Metal element plays a crucial role in our immune system, making this retreat ideal for anyone interested in working with nature's Creative Cycle and preparing their body, mind, and Spirit for Winter.  Undertaking this kind of work when nature is doing hers offers a unique opportunity for powerful shifts, spaciousness, and deeper self-knowledge.
