Competition Time – A Winning Weekend
Sitting at the heart of the south coast of England, the Chichester District is one of the UK's more popular tourist destinations. Over the month of April the area is hosting a competition to learn about your perfect weekend get-away and there are some exciting prizes on offer.
After much of the past year being spent in lockdown, lots of us have been dreaming of a summer escape. If the Chichester District and its picturesque towns of Midhurst and Petworth or the sunny seaside destinations of Selsey and the Witterings are on your list, then why not get involved.
Where would you stay and what would you do? Well, The Great Sussex Way, want to know, so they can bring your fantasies into reality. As the body responsible for the tourism of Chichester District, they've launched a competition, 'A Winning Weekend', to do just that.
The competition asks you to share your ideal weekend, and much more, with a host of incredible prizes on offer. Every winner will receive a luxurious hamper filled with a selection of goodies from Petworth's The Hungry Guest, worth over £75 and each category has a bespoke prize. The creative connectivity category that asks people to explore adventurous ways to get from A to B, will win an hour-long scenic aeroplane ride for two, with a glass of bubbly to boot, courtesy of V2 Radio.
Going Green, will win you a weeknight stay at Ashling Park Estate, with a tour of their winery and an afternoon free bike rental thanks to Southern eBike Rentals. Lastly, the businesses collaboration category, which looks to encourage businesses to work together, will offer a 30-second advertisement lasting four weeks on V2 Radio for a lucky local business.
Finally, all three winning weekends will be published in the local Observer series on a double-page special.
Danielle Dunfield, CEO of The Great Sussex Way said, “With home schooling and working from home, like most people I have been dreaming of getting away for a bit of a break. Our area has something for everyone, and we want to hear what you'd do to make a weekend in the Chichester District a magical one.”
The competition launching today, April 1st, will run for the whole month, closing at midnight on the 30th. The winners will be selected by an expert panel of judges including, Anke Monestel from Visit England, Samantha Richardson from the National Coastal Tourism Academy, and Dr Jorge Gutic from the University of Chichester's Business School. A Winning Weekend is supported by V2 Radio and the Chichester Observer Series as official competition partners. For more information and to enter visit: www.thegreatsussexway.org
