The Great John Street Hotel Launches Their Eclectic Baby Showers

Eclectic Hotels

Baby Showers have made their way across the pond and are fast becoming a popular tradition for expectant mothers in the UK. Originally this kind of celebration was called wetting the baby's head and was celebrated after the birth of your first child. This was primarily an opportunity for the father to celebrate with friends over a few drinks.

However, this is no longer the case, and mothers now rule the roost with gaggles of their friends gathering around them to celebrate the imminent birth of their child. Gone are the days of high tea and quaint conversations, nowadays Baby Showers require an added panache and The Great John Street Hotel offers just that.

This luxury hotel, housed within a renovated school house, has launched three new retro baby shower packages for the ‘Eclectic’ mother to be:

Cocktail & ‘Mummy-Mocktail’ making & tasting baby shower:

Book your cocktail and canapé baby shower at Great John Street and let their in house mixoligists show you how to make your favourite classic cocktails with all the variations just to your taste. More importantly they will show you how an expecting mother can still enjoy the glamour of a refreshing cocktail without the alcohol in our ‘Mummy-Mocktails’ making and tasting master class.

The expectant mummy will be offered 4 exotic Mocktails, packed full of fresh fruit and essential vitamins and minerals for the baby (including calcium, fibre and folate) which are aptly named:

  • Ma-Tini
  • Ma-jito
  • Ma-Tai
  • Bump on the Beach

Friends can also opt for the Mocktails or enjoy the original alcoholic alternative made just the way you like it, all served with a chef’s selection of canapés.

Price - £60 per person inclusive of Cocktail and ‘Mummy Mocktail’ making and tasting classes with canapés. Based on a minimum of 10 people

The Naked Chocolatiers Baby Shower:

Let the (almost) Naked Chocolatiers host your party with a unique 2 hour experience.

The Chocolatiers will show you how to make your very own chocolate truffles from a variety of flavours talking you trough the process from start to finish.

They will then stay to serve you Great John Street Hotel’s decadent “Ladies Afternoon tea”.

Tasteful and unforgettable

Price
- £55 per person inclusive of afternoon tea and the Chocolate Masterclass. Based on a minimum of 10 people

The Knit & Knatter Baby Shower:

Knitting is shrugging off its granny image, and rising in the trend stakes, so join the bandwagon and start knitting an entire wardrobe for the new baby.

With your own private event space indulge with  ‘Ladies Afternoon Tea’ complete with finger sandwiches, home made sweet canapés and warm fluffy scones accompanied by as much tea and coffee (de-caff available of course) as you need to fuel the gossip whilst enjoying a Knitting Masterclass and learning the intricate techniques involved.

Guests can then ‘Knit and Knatter’ away, making playsuits, jumpers and for the less experienced a simple scarf for the expectant mother’s baby.

Price
- £55 per person inclusive of The Ladies Afternoon Tea and the Knitting Masterclass. Based on a minimum of 10 people
