Veganism is enjoying a renaissance! Plant-based foods, meatless menus and dairy-free alternatives continue to take center stage in top restaurants across the UK. The five-star Egerton House Hotel, nestled in the heart of Knightsbridge, is following suit by launching an all-new Vegan Afternoon Tea.
The hotel's elegant Drawing Room is the perfect setting to enjoy afternoon tea, a great British custom, and now those with dietary restrictions can join in too! The Egerton has risen to the challenge and created a completely vegan afternoon tea menu, while staying true to tradition.
The Egerton Vegan Afternoon Tea menu features a choice of fine leaf teas, plus an array of teatime favorites including scones, sandwiches, and sweets. Freshly cut sandwiches feature vegan fillings such as grilled vegetables, guacamole and arugula, chickpea, herbed chicken, cucumber and margarine, and tomato and olive tapenade on sun-dried tomato bread. The selection of vegan sweets includes an iced chocolate brownie, vanilla and coconut sponge, lemon drizzle cake, a fruit and custard tartlet, and a vanilla cupcake. Both plain and fruit vegan scones are available and served with a selection of preserves.
The Egerton also offers a Gluten-Free Afternoon Tea featuring all the traditional sweet and savory treats.
The Egerton Vegan Afternoon Tea is priced at $48 per person.
