Popular restaurant offers authentic array of delicious Indian cuisine
(Macao, Nov. 3, 2014) – The prestigious Michelin Guide to Restaurants and Hotels has awarded a star to the Golden Peacock at The Venetian Macao for the second year in a row. The Venetian® Macao's authentic Indian restaurant is listed in the guide's Hong Kong & Macau 2015 edition as a one-star establishment, signifying “a very good restaurant in its category,” and “a place offering cuisine prepared to a consistently high standard.”
“Visitors to Macao come to our integrated resorts for unforgettable experiences, and our dining offering is a prime example of how we deliver on that expectation,” said Charles Newland, Senior Vice President of Food & Beverage and Director of Paiza Operations for Venetian Macau Limited. “We are very pleased that Michelin has recognised the Golden Peacock at The Venetian Macao for the second year in a row with a star rating. Our many guests from India and around the world know that authentic Indian food of outstanding quality awaits at the Golden Peacock, and we look forward to continuing our commitment to that kind of excellence for years to come.”
Known by many as simply “the red guide” because of its iconic cover, the Michelin Guide is the benchmark in gourmet dining, and features in-depth descriptions for each restaurant and hotel, as well as its world-renowned star-rating system for culinary excellence, awarded annually based on the dining experiences of anonymous, professional Michelin inspectors.
The newest accolade is the restaurant's fourth since opening in February 2013. Besides its recognition in the 2014 and 2015 Michelin guides, the Golden Peacock is also listed in Hong Kong Tatler's Best Restaurants guide for 2014 and is also one of only 20 Macao restaurants recognised by the South China Morning Post in the 2014 edition of its 100 Top Tables.
The Golden Peacock brings the best in authentic Indian cuisine to the ever-popular Venetian Macao, and launched a diverse new vegetarian and non-vegetarian a la carte menu in June, in its effort to present diners with an ever-changing selection of authentic dishes. The restaurant's cuisine covers a comprehensive range of regional specialties and is made from scratch using ingredients imported direct from India – all prepared by a team of chefs that includes 13 from all throughout India, led by Kerala-native Chef Justin Paul. The Golden Peacock is open daily 11 a.m.-3 p.m. for buffet lunch, with an a la carte menu available 3-11 p.m. Reservations or private events can be booked by calling +853 8118 9696 or emailing goldenpeacock.reservation@venetian.com.mo.
