More travellers will be able to book an epic adventure aboard The Ghan in its 90th anniversary year, with the legendary train introducing a second service to its year-round timetable for 2019.

The second Ghan service will operate over the peak travel period of June, July and August 2019.

• Adelaide-Darwin departing Wednesdays
• Darwin-Adelaide (The Ghan Expedition) departing Saturdays

The Ghan has also introduced holiday packages connected with the new Wednesday northbound timetable, letting travellers break their journey in Alice Springs and rejoin the train a few days later.

In respond to high market demand, six new Platinum Service carriages will be added to the fleet.

2019 will mark the 90th anniversary of The Ghan, involving 90 days of celebration in June, July and August and culminating in a special anniversary journey scheduled for 4 August.
