There's been an average 10% increase in Snoworks ski courses taken by British skier's year on year over the last five seasons and the company wants to reward both existing and new customers with a unique loyalty scheme named SKIMILES to encourage them to take the increasingly different courses on offer.
'One of the main reasons we've seen an increase in numbers, is the expansion of courses such as Off-Piste, Backcountry, Backcountry Access and All-Terrain Safari's as our customers continue to search for more adventurous options', says Phil Smith, founder and director of Snoworks Ski Courses.
Off-piste skiing that includes ski touring, where skins are used on the skis to access areas otherwise impossible to get to via the ski lift system, is the fastest growing area of the sport and reflected by the manufactures launch of new equipment such as Salomon's MTN ski – specifically designed for short ski tours that open up powder skiing terrain to strong intermediate skiers upwards.
SKIMILES can be used by customers of Snoworks against courses they might not have previously considered taking, opening up a whole new world of skiing that they might not have thought possible before.
'As skiers improve they want to try off-piste skiing but might not know how to achieve that technically or how to ensure they are safe when they leave the marked slopes', says Smith, a highly experienced, top level qualified ski instructor who's well known for presenting Channel 4's Ski Tips program. He goes onto say, 'we will be partnering up with an environmental charity where we shall be donating 20 SKIMILES for every 100 our customers make when they book a course because we need to ensure the long term preservation of our climate so we'll still be skiing in fifty years from now'.
About SKIMILES™
The number of SKIMILES awarded is linked to the Snoworks ski course fee paid. There will also be incentives to earn extra SKIMILES, such as booking within a certain date, a particular course or destination, winning a photo competition, writing a testimonial or even doing well in the summer and autumn end of week race, along with other incentives. SKIMILES are not earned on courses that have qualified for other discounts, GAP courses and some instructor training. SKIMILES can be added up and used whenever required or traded in for a discount on a future Snoworks ski course.
SKIMILES awarded for booking a ski course can equate up to 5% of the course fee paid and this can be added to with extra incentives. SKIMILES have also been backdated to all ski courses taken with Snoworks last year from 1st July 2014.
