The City of Victoria will be their first stop with subsequent visits on September 27th, 29th and October 1st.The City of Vcitoria was originally going to be named Camosun, a Songhees word meaning "where different waters meet and are transformed". Soon it was decided that it should honour the Queens husband and consort, and for a short time it became Fort Albert. When it became clear that the post would be the headquarters for the Hudson's Bay Company west of the Rocky Mountains, and destined to be the seat of a new British colony, it was decided that no less a name could be attached than that of the Queen herself. So on June 10,1843, it was officially named "Fort Victoria" after the great British Queen. (also great great great grandmother of Prince William.)
Whilst in Canada the Royal Highnesses will participate in events and activities that highlight the work Canadians are doing to preserve the environment, empower young people, improve mental healtth , encourage active living and highlight indigenous culture and heritage.
